At their September meeting, the Foundation Board unanimously named
Dale Antoine
Executive Director of the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps
In 1970, Dale became a member of the Jets Drum and Bugle Corps (the cadet corps to the Sky Ryders), and in 1971 he joined the Sky Ryders and marched through 1978 in the brass line playing baritone In 1979 and 1980, Dale was a member of the corps visual staff. After several years away, Dale returned as Business Manager and in the spring of 1986 Dale became the Executive Director of the Sky Ryders.
The corps achieved its greatest competitive success during these years, placing 9th in 1986 and 12th in both 1987 and 1988 at the DCI World Championships. Dale left the activity in spring of 1989 and then returned in 1996 as a member of the DCI Event Staff. He currently serves as a DCI Contest Director and Event Staff Coordinator, and On-Site Manager for the DCI Championships and many of the major regional championships.
This appointment is a significant step forward for the future of the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps.
During postseason meetings that included the Board of Directors, Staff, and Consultants,
Sky Ryders Performing Arts Foundation made the following determinations:
Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps will compete in the 2025 SoundSport season
with a full on field production.
For the 2025 season the Sky Ryders will continue to accept winds
and brass and will add a front ensemble.
The Sky Ryders will have a limited tour schedule. That schedule will include
“Spring Training” (at a location to be determined) and a small slate of contests.
Sky Ryders will have a schedule of Winter and Spring camps for the purpose of educating the
students, growing their personal skills and to prepare and evaluate them for the 2025 season.
Many specifics continue to be worked out and will be announced as soon as they’re available.
The Foundation’s mission is to provide educational opportunities for area students and to grow the Sky
Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps in a responsible and sensible manner. We continue to pursue that goal
and are following procedures specified by Drum Corps International. Your support is appreciated.
