Jennifer Woodworth

Jennifer Woodworth is the Director of Spirit Teams at Emporia State University, where she oversees the ESU Colorguard, Stingers Dance Team and Hornet Cheer Team. Jenn earned her Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with an emphasis in coaching from Emporia State in 2022, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Recreation with a Minor in Music from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007.

This past summer Jenn had the pleasure of serving as the Color Guard instructor for the Kansas Masonic All-Star Marching Band. In 2017, at that time serving as the Emporia State Color Guard Director, Jenn started the only existing collegiate winter guard in the state of Kansas, Elegante Independent. This unit competes in the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association, and her ensembles have finished in the top four placements every year that they have participated in championships. In 2023, Elegante Independent finished in 2nd place at the MCCGA Championships.

Before moving to Kansas in 2015, Jenn started her color guard coaching career in 2005 at Durango High School, and then later at Las Vegas High School, both in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jenn has just wrapped up her 20th season serving in the capacities of color guard director, coach, designer, and/or consultant, and is looking forward to working as a color guard tech for the Sky Ryders starting in 2025.
